DiscoveryEnviron is a section of Discovery Engineering Ltd that specialises in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) / Environmental Audit (EAu) consultancy exercises.

Environmental Audit is a dynamic management tool, aimed at systematic and periodic documentation, and evaluations of the performance of the Environmental Management System (EMS) of the operating company/facility. It consists of examining issues and verifying compliance with environmental guidelines and standards, as defined by the regulating authorities.

Objectives of EIA/EAu

i. Generation of adequate environmental information assessment of facilities for the potential environmental risks that are likely to be caused by the operations of the facilities and their immediate environments.

ii. Achieving resource optimisation and improved process performance.

iii. Encouraging organisations to self-regulate their environmental practices, and to increase their responsibilities to stakeholders and society.

iv. Ensuring compliance, not only with laws, regulations and standards, but also with company policies.

v. Enabling environmental problems and risks to be projected and resources planned.

vi. Minimizing human exposure to risks from the environment, health and safety.
